Once again Luke Bryan remains at #1 with his hit single “I Don’t Want This Night To End”, it has now spent 3 straight weeks in the top spot, which gives the impression that Luke Bryan is carrying his success from 2011 into 2012. This is Luke’s fastest rising single, and the 4th to hit number 1 and has now sold over 1 million copies. It is also the 2nd single off the album “Tailgates and Tanlines” and Luke says: “I thought ‘Country Girl (Shake It For Me)’ was going to be hard to beat in my shows,” Luke says of his previous single, “but watching over 16,000 people jumping with their hands in the air last night just blew me away. Thank you to radio and the country music fans for continuing to let me have fun with my music. I’m having a blast!”
This week we also saw 3 new debut songs, Tim McGraw and Taylor Swift are back on the countdown again…which of course, as expected never takes very long for them to do. “Better Than I Used To Be” is Tim’s latest single that seemingly climbed the charts silently and has climbed into the Top 20, while Taylor’s song “Ours” was featured as the “Song To Look For” a couple weeks ago. Expect these songs to climb within the top 10, and very likely battle for the top spot. The last of the 3 debut’s comes to us from a man who is new on the country scene…so new that he is an ACM New Artist of the Year nominee, David Nail comes in at #20 on the Top 20 Countdown with his single “Let It Rain”. David has some pretty tough competition in that category, going up against the likes of Jerrod Nieman, Thompson Square, Justin Moore and Scotty McCreery to name a few. If you would like to vote for David Nail, or any of the others visit http://www.gactv.com/gac/pac_ctnt/text/0,,GAC_26058_84999,0.html and place your votes, voting closes on Monday Jan 30th.
Speaking of ACM New Artist of the year nominee’s, Scotty McCreery may be at the heart of a new scandal. As we have seen many times before, people get famous, then family members or friends come out of the woodwork trying to get money by claiming to have less than flattering information…well, it is happening to Scotty. Scotty McCreery tweeted “I’ve been blackmailed by my own kin!” Well, after some digging around, I, Jon newsman extraordinaire…unlike that Josh Boyce fella haha, has uncovered the video from Scotty’s cousin Jimmy Dale. Turns out, Scotty borrowed 50 large from his kinfolk Jimmy Dale, and Jimmy has yet to see it back. Here is the video that Jimmy Dale is blackmailing him with!
Wow…I am truly shocked at those exposed lies…but I will still probably vote for him anyway!
