Billy Bob Thornton Has Written 20 Country Songs
Billy Bob Thornton has been writing country songs ever since he wrote Flatland Cavalry’s “Midland After Midnight” for the “Landman” soundtrack.
He says he’s written about 18 to 20 songs, and they’re more reminiscent of something from Waylon Jennings or Johnny Cash.
“I don’t write what they write these days. Modern country music doesn’t thrill me. I call it ‘Def Leppard with a steel guitar.’ It just sounds like pop music.”
